I  understand  your feelings Indian Global.

You have posted your blog in Dec 2007.
From Jan 2008  Sulekha started  this  best of the month blog and the posts  they select  are related  only to that month.
Hope  this clears your doubt?

HI  Aditi

Thanks  for  the visit and appreciation.

As  you have pointed out women and men are  dissimilar in physique and nature.

As  pointed out  by matheikal and BigMojo, accepting male child and female child as equals, and to  have bring that mind set in the society  we  may need  many more years.

Thanks  for sharing  your views  Aditi.

I appreciate it.

Hi Indu,

I am reading this late...still catching up on blogs that I missed..keeping an erratic Sulekha schedule as such...a very balanced interview and I liked that you included both men and women bloggers in this interview, it certainly brings out a balance and different perspectives.

I have just one comment on 'gender equality'. Women and men are dissimilar, in physique and nature,  they are not equal as in equal. Whether in a patrilineal or in a matrilineal society , only women give birth, it is both a privilege and a responsibility. Therefore if a woman 'chooses' to raise a family, her primary role remains that of nurturer, irrespective of her formal education or eminent employability.  The concept of gender equality , therefore, IMO,  is  of the 'opportunity'  to make a conscious decision, whether to raise a family or not raise a family.

Julia Dutta

I liked your view that

But true woman's day is when both genders can say, we have the qualities of the opposite within us and we love and enjoy being such.

Thanks for the appreciation.
